Join The Findhorn Dunes Trust, a charity set up by gift in 2000, to explore and discover the importance of the 175 acres of dunes along the Moray coast.

Findhorn Dunes

We shall go “Riding the Marches” around the Trust from the beach (low tide) to the hinterland. You’ll see and hear about its extent; its flora (lichens, pines, invasives etc); its archaeology (Bronze Age, Fishing, WW2); its landscape (raised beaches, delicate surfaces, erosion); its challenges (m-cycles, fires, dogs out of control, litter etc); its fauna (bunnies and birds), and sunset just after 22.00 hrs. Some dunes have short steep slopes (avoidable). Super views across the Firth to Wick.

Meet at the car park at the north end of Dunes Road – 10 mph limit. GR 047648. Dunes Road is a RIGHT turn off the B 9011 at GR 045637 just as you emerge from the tree-lined part of the road after the FINDHORN sign.
