Jack and the Dancing Trees and Dragon Story Walk

Sat, 14 June 2025 @ 11:00 - 12:00

Local storyteller and percussionist, Carol Scorer, offers an family friendly storytelling walk that takes you on a journey both of the imagination and the feet.

On this walk from Grant Park Playpark up Cluny Hill, expect tales of dancing trees, otherworldly creatures, and a dragon. There will be plenty of sound effects and percussion, hopefully helped by you.

Starting with a magical Midsummer tale from North East Scotland we’ll make our way up Cluny Hill to the dragon for stories from Iran about saving and celebrating the light. Perhaps we will rest for another story on the way up the hill.

Carol Scorer is a storyteller and percussionist often weaving these two together. She has worked professionally in community theatre for many years as a storyteller, performer, and percussionist. She is drawn to stories and rhythms rooted in memory, in the land, and to those voices less heard that are there if only for the listening.

Carol is an experienced facilitator, teacher, and trainer. She performs storytelling for both adults and children. She performs regularly at WOMAD festival in The World of Children with interactive stories incorporating rhythm and has regularly performed as part of The Scottish International Storytelling Festival.

Carol also co hosts the monthly storytelling evenings in Forres,
